I have succumbed to the delights of a Nintendo DS Lite after hogging AM and Nig's, well actually its part of my anniversary present to and from Monkey Boy.
All AM now likes to do is whup my ass at Sega Casino, more precisely Texas Hold Em. What a lovely sister eh?

I had long hair, well hair down to my shoulders anyway and on Tuesday I had it cut up to just below my ears. I feel really strange now, I miss my long hair although I was guilty of not doing very much with it, virtually always having it up in a ponytail.

I went to an old friend's funeral today. She was only 32. It was very sad, they played "Simply the Best" and when it was on they all gave her a standing ovation and I must say I cried.
The worst thing is that her mum died on Monday.

Its been so long I don't know where to start!
Good news first, I became an auntie again yesterday, my brother in law and sister in law became the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl called Kimberley Ocean (its pronounced the french way as Kathy is french!) She was 6lb exactly and was born at 11.15 pm last night.
The bad news is my mother in law today has just been diagnosed with lymphoma, we don't know exactly what type yet but its really devastating news.
I will try and keep this updated, theres no excuse I know!

My in laws had to have their cocker spaniel put down this morning..... :(
Tiffany was 14 and was deaf and blind and had been failing for a little while but its still sad....

The reason why I haven't updated in so long is that I started my new job last week and I'm so tired by the time I get in I can't even summon up the energy to keep on typing!
Its doing legal work again, conveyancing to be precise but I'm on £4000 more than my last job so that indeed is an improvement!

I'm off to Birmingham/North Yorkshire for a couple of days. Yes, I know these are two different places but Monkey boy wants to go and play with his trains whilst there is a memobillia fair on at the NEC which I want to go to.
I haven't got much money but hey, its not about buying things is it? Actually its quite exciting because they have got the original cast of Battlestar Galactica together again which means Richard Hatch and Dirk Benedict will be there. I saw Dirk there a few years ago and my, the years have been kind to that man! And, if you wondering, no I don't go anywhere near them I just walk past whilst Paul says loudly" who's that then?"......

How bad can you really be? So many people have said so many
bad things about you, but you know they can't all be true. Not even most of them.
You went a little crazy for a while, but now you're just getting older and tired
of all the nasty stuff people think about you. You could use a little more money
and you really wish people wouldn't keep leaving you for richer people, but other than
that, things aren't so bad. You really like used military clothing.

I went out last night to watch my brother play in a band. It was a fairly good night until we accidentially got our car locked in a private car park and the final straw was when I had a huge spider on my front!
All my girl friends went as one "ugggghhhhh spider!" and it was left to me to brush the horrible thing off!
After that I didn't really enjoy the rest of the night...... :roll:

I don't know if I have done the sensible thing or no, today I went into work and handed in my notice. To tell you the truth I haven't really been enjoying it, its too much job for not enough money and told them so.
Because I had accrued leave I was allowed to go straight away, so today really feels like a holiday!
I've made an appointment to go to a temping agency on Wednesday, I signed on with them about 15 years ago and did some work for them and I actually spoke to the same woman who signed me up and remembered me - now I call that attention to detail, although there is a story to why she remembers me.....

I had to go and have my ear "hoovered" today. Well, thats high up on the list of things I never want to have to do again......

Apparently I have a large piece of wax "balancing" on my eardrum which she couldn't dig out but let me assure you she had a damn good try :cry:

I'm coming up to 5 days with very little hearing in my right ear. Originally they thought it was build up of ear wax and I had to have my ear syringed which happened about 3 hours ago and was most "uncomfortable".
Once the ear "pops" I'm supposed to feel much better, only problem is theres no sign of that happening yet and I'm getting ear ache again! Anybody got any good ideas on what to do next?

I found this lurking about on a Stargate website, Nat and I like the way she compares every man to MacGyver although quite a lot of our "boyfriends" seem to be mentioned there and I must admit that MacGyver is my boyfriend of the moment, what with all my family watching SG1 religiously at the moment, even my Mum has been known to go "offworld" 8 times in one day lol...... :lol:

To me! It was my birthday and of course my sisters 37th birthday yesterday! I had a very Farscape birthday, over 11 box sets because they sell them in double packs so I'm now all the way up to Season 3 with only Season 4 and the Peacekeepers War to get!

I know I'm sad and I just can't help it but I can't wait until I see Revenge of the Sith on Friday!
I remember seeing Star Wars when I was 8 and loving it, perhaps thats where my love of sci fi comes from, that and being force fed Star Trek from about 2, thanks Dad!
I think my first real crush would have had to have been Harrison Ford, I still love sarky men because of him!
Of course the strangest thing is that I "fell in love" with a 6ft 1 hazel eyed man who worked as a carpenter and what am I married to now? If you didn't already know obviously I'm married to a 6ft 1 carpenter with hazel eyes! So be careful what you wish for, sometimes you get it!

Went to my class last night, lo and behold another 4lb off! Although we did go out to celebrate afterwards as Gran has been to the hospital and got the all clear with her cyst on her kidney! Paul says he has never seen her eat like she did last night!.
Don't ask what I ate, I think I may be putting that 4lb back on...... :lol:

Yes, yes, as if I haven't done it a thousand times before (I've told myself off a million times for exagerating!) I've gone back to my slimming class and only lost 3 effing pounds!
With all the weight I need to lose, I was so disappointed, mind you something that only happens to ladies monthly is imminent so we can hope for better next week!
I want to lose 3 stone (42 lb) by October so that when I visit Wally World I can buy the cheaper stuff not the plus size that costs a couple of extra dollars!

I started a new job last Wednesday, I had to take a £1000 pay cut but I suppose its not all about the money.....its just the money for my dvd obsession!.

Talking about obsessions, as Enterprise is finishing I have to cast my net a bit further for my sci-fi fix and am currently addicted to Farscape (and Ben Browder in leather!) Yes, I know yet again I'm into a series thats already been cancelled but us sci fi freaks have to get it where we can!

For the last 10 years or so A-M and I have waited up all night (literally as it starts at 1.20 am over here in Blighty) to watch the Oscars. I think last night was the first night I really wish I hadn't bothered. To tell the truth I haven't seen any of the Oscar nominated movies and was only rooting for the Brits.
Was it me or was that a really boring ceremony?

Now I know this will sound silly but do you ever read other people's blogs and imagine them reading them out loud to you? Its just that whenever I read Nat's I can hear her voice so clearly that it always makes me laugh!

Its not just because I know her voice its just that it rings so true sometimes that it makes me happy knowing that there is someone out there that is so funny and observant of other people!
