Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go....
04.29.04 (1:30 pm) [edit]
Fantastic gig last night! AM and I had seen them before but theres nothing like seeing the original line up!
We both agree that Roger has lost his looks slightly but we loved the rakish look John Taylor has going on now!
There were only 3 songs that we didn't recognise - how sad is that! In a way I'm glad we didn't see them 20 years ago we wouldn't have been able to hear a thing, there were still women screaming though!
The bad news is that I have only had about 4 hours sleep and I'm trying my hardest not to fall asleep at the monitor!

Hooray Hooray - Its Duran Duran Day!
04.28.04 (11:16 am) [edit]
I have seen them before in comfort of the Plymouth Pavilions but only Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes of the original band were playing, its more exciting now as its the original line up!
These were my teenybop band - I was 13 in 1981, just the right age to go gaga over a bunch of pretty boys!
And, Andaloo, I'm sure they were very naughty young men in their time!
We're going to Cardiff, just me, AM and AM's niece by marriage Kirsty so its gonna be a girly day out, Kirsty's younger than us so I don't know how well she remembers the band.
I so remember our Duran Duran calendar, with pretty pictures of the boys all done in pastel colours - aahhhh the years just roll back......

Hello, its good to be back!
04.27.04 (1:11 pm) [edit]
I'm back after my long absence lol, unfortunately over the weekend I've suffered a long migraine coupled with another sinusitis attack - I never do things by halves you know....
I'm still feeling a bit groggy but being me, and being a martyr I've come back to work today as I'm off to Cardiff tomorrow to see Duran Duran!

While the Cat's Away.....
04.22.04 (1:27 pm) [edit]
Well, its Monkey Boy's birthday today and to celebrate it hes going away and won't be back until Monday evening!
I on the other hand have to stay with my beloved Mama who's heavily into her soaps ie Eastenders and Emmerdale etc etc. which bore me to tears!
Although Saturday night I will moan and whinge until she lets me watch CSI: Miami!

Despair
04.21.04 (1:13 pm) [edit]
This weather is not helping me at all, I hate it when it rains, where is the alleged spring that was supposed to be here now?
My Irritable Bowel Syndrome is playing me up big time today and I get so tired of having to run to the loo all the time, luckily its only across the hall but thats not the point....
And of course, its now train season so Paul gets to go away tomorrow, which is his birthday incidentially and doesn't come back until Monday. What I don't understand is why I always feel at my worst just before he goes away?

Terrible Weather
04.20.04 (6:21 pm) [edit]
I cannot believe that we almost through April and its still raining!
I'm a Summer baby and I do so prefer the balmier days of Summer, I hate having to wear shoes!
Mind you, I left my incredibly smelly plastic mules in Nat's trash when we left Texas so in some landfill there is a part that is forever Joolie!
I need to get another pair before I go away this year!

Morning All!

I thought I would pop in briefly before I start work just to say that I lost 1 lb in class last week and I so deserved not to!

Tired
04.19.04 (2:41 pm) [edit]
I dunno, I'm feeling so tearful all the time at the moment and very lethargic.
What I really need is a good holiday but I have to wait until June for a week off, our leave goes from April to April and we only get 21 days plus any bank holidays so I have to be careful about how long I have off.

Hey you - Prag!
04.12.04 (7:55 pm) [edit]
I have introduced a new prag to the delights that is The Young and the Paroleless (tm Nat) otherwise known as Oz - my dearest mama!
She keeps on getting confused on who is being killed, I've told her not to worry there will be another shanking in the next 10 minutes!
After addicting AM to it I suppose the only one left now is Granny!

I like to be in America.....
04.11.04 (9:39 am) [edit]
Everybody's heard of Anglophiles but I am completely the other way, I love everything about America, yeah including supersize food!
I'm sat here drinking out of my I heart NY mug, I watch virtually all American programmes, and, normally go to the US for my holidays, does that make me an Americophile??

Morning All!
04.11.04 (9:18 am) [edit]
Paul's gone away to play on his choo choos and the bastard woke me up!
So, as I haven't updated in eons I thought I'd come online, as if I haven't got enough stitching/dvd watching/contemplating my own navel to do....
This blog is brought to you by the sound of the very greatest hits of Heart. I'm in a very 80's music time warp at the moment, in fact I'm off to see Duran Duran on the 28th and I'm very excited as the original line up have reformed and thats who will be playing! I've seen them before with just Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes and they were pretty darn good then!

Update
04.06.04 (1:19 pm) [edit]
I went to my slimming class last night and stayed the same. When you think that I have lost 9lb in the last few weeks I think my body was trying to tell me "whooah slow down there!"
I feel thinner but its still early days yet and I need to lose so much weight, I've got to try and think of it half a stone at a time.
I bought myself a new case on Saturday all ready for Nat Fest 04, its rather swishy with a trolley handle as opposed to just a handle on the side which is what my last one had, when we had to get a move on (which with Monkey Boy is most of the time) the case would dive from left to right with no warning and would almost wrench my shoulder and arm off!

Lunchtime again!
04.06.04 (1:13 pm) [edit]
Its lunchtime and I'm bored! Once I finish my lunch hour I have another 4 hours of work before I can go home, and it seems like every minute lasts an hour!
At least this weekend we get a couple of days off either way, the way I feel at the minute I may just spend them sleeping! :?

Feel the Quality
04.01.04 (6:00 pm) [edit]
You know, sometimes I read other people's blogs (Hi there, my little hunnybunnylittleb - you haven't been called that in a loooong time!) and think how prolific other writers are.
Some days I can go on for hours and hours about my mundane life, and other days, I find it really difficult to string a coherent sentence together! I think I may be having one of those days today!
As I am hunched over my keyboard (guess whats it's purple - what made you think I liked that colour?) behind me one of my 4 cats Holly is licking out a box filled with pilchards and purring her little head off - is there any better sound than the sound of a purring cat?
Its raining here in Plymouth, we don't know where the rain came from but its absolutely bucketing down and I've got the fire on and my favourite big black rug, otherwise known as Mr P my oldest moggie is camped out in front of it, he likes to toast himself in front of the fire!
My other two children Tash otherwise known as "The Slag" (why do people name their cats and then give them half a dozen nicknames?) is upstairs awaiting the presence of her daddy to whom she will squeak her orders to stroke her for at least half an hour and my precious baby boy, my beautiful Viking prince, His Gingerness Jasper will be on the bed in Nat's bedroom waiting for someone to notice him and stroke him.
I shouldn't forget the rabbit Mr Bunn who lives in the utility room as we think its too cruel to let him live outside and the two newest additions, the hamsters Toby (me obsessed with Oz, what made you think that?) and Honey live in the front room with us in their rotostaks and make interesting Hamster TV for the cats.
